you can get a lot done in a year or so by slowly chipping away at your goal; by building a path, brick by brick.
remember how long it took Andy Dufresne to dig out of Shawshank with a rock hammer? quite a while. but with a little effort each day, he was able to achieve freedom.
you too can achieve whatever it is you set your mind to with a little effort and discipline over the course of a year. why stop there? imagine what you can achieve in 5, or 10, or a lifetime?
all you really have to do is take create some semblance of meaningful action in the direction of your goal and make a good argument for yourself and suddenly your An Expert*
*it should be noted that many people will read this and think “hmm, that sounds simple. I can do that.”
maybe you can! likely, you can’t. many of you are too ambitious and you’ll never achieve your dreams. conversely, many of you are not ambitious enough, and you’ll easily achieve your dreams. both situations are a curse.
what’s important is that you don’t confuse simplicity of strategy with ease of execution; and similarly, don’t confuse complexity of strategy with difficulty of execution. things can be simple and hard, or complicated and easy.
it’s up to you to be opportunistically literate and know what you should and should not do in order to advance your goals.
