there are many systems in life that require some type of pruning and attentiveness in order to maximize their function. I’m under the impression God was a gardener.

good memery is no different than good gardening. the best memes are planted, and then grow at their own organic pace, periodically receiving maintenence and a nudge this way or that way.

some memes work like a vine, requiring a sort of scaffolding.

other memes are seasonal.

some just come around once and then have to be replanted.

other can grow big and tall and last for hundreds of years.

there are many analogies between the plant world and the abstract world.

> ideas systems and biological systems are both space-filling; if there’s dead space, it either gets pruned or filled.

> there’s all sorts of farming methods. some go organic, some go synthetic; there’s mega corps and weekend hobbyists; all sort of machinery dedicated to the production of memery.

the one thing everything has in common is that it requires attention for success.

something to think about.
