sometimes, I’m learning, that you can know too much. you can become too enlightened.

I think sometimes when we examine something too closely, and you understand the mechanics of it too closely, the story, and symbolism therein, can sort of crumble and erode.

it’s the same reason that knowing how a magic trick works ruins the trick.

sometimes I do this thing at the bar, where if I’m putting on a good show and cracking wise and entertaining the regulars with fun anecdotes, I’ll leave a bit earlier than intended. you know, go out on top.

I don’t find this dissimilar to the above thoughts. I think part of having a good experience is knowing when that experience should naturally conclude.

I was actually going to write about Pokémon and it being a fun way to explore the intersection of Aesthetics and Utility, how to make something that both looks good and performs well, but I got sidetracked by the above thoughts instead.
